BEWARE - Do Not Cancel Flight Using App!

Beware - do not attempt to cancel a flight via the Southwest airlines app. I recently attempted to cancel a flight using the app, received confirmation from the app that the flight had been cancelled and credited to my account. The next day when I was scheduled to fly I received an e-mail from Southwest stating that I was a “no show.” After a lengthy conversation with a “supervisor” in the call center I was offered no recourse and basically accused of lying about the cancellation. I have read several other incidents of this happening but Southwest refuses to acknowledge this as an ongoing issue.

Beware of using the Southwest iOS app to cancel a flight and may be worth considering avoiding the airline all together based on this experience.
